Since 2005, China Everbright Bank has participated in "Mother Reservoir "project advocated by the All-China Women's Federation and China Women's Development Foundation. China Everbright Bank planned to solve the drinking water problem in the water inadequate areas in west of China by donating the fund to build 10,000 cisterns in 5 years.
By the end of 2008, China Everbright Bank has donated about RMB 8 million to six provinces (autonomous regions) which are in poor natural and economic condition, such as Gansu, Ningxia, Shannxi, Inner Mogolia, Xinjiang and Tibet for building cisterns.
